- Abstract
The background of this research is that electronic storybooks have been developed for elementary school students who have been declared feasible to be applied in increasing the learning independence of elementary school students, but the effectiveness of electronic storybooks has yet to be discovered. This study aimed to determine the effect of electronic storybooks on the learning independence of elementary school students. This research is experimental. The research instrument uses a questionnaire with a Likert scale. The data analysis technique used the normality test, the two variants similarity test, and the hypothesis test, which consisted of the two average difference tests, the effect test between variables, and the normalized gain test. The final results of the study stated that using electronic storybooks had a practical effect on increasing the learning independence of elementary school students. The implications of this research can be used as a reference in developing learning independence for elementary school students.
