Abstract

This article explores the profound potential of accelerationism to revolutionize higher education, emphasizing its transformative capacity in fostering a dynamic, innovative, and responsive academic ecosystem. The study begins by tracing accelerationism’s philosophical and socio-political roots, advocating for the strategic and expedited use of technology and methodologies to trigger significant societal transformation. It delves into accelerationism’s theoretical foundations, highlighting how this approach challenges traditional educational models by promoting rapid technological and pedagogical evolution. Specifically, the research investigates accelerationism’s influence on curriculum design, faculty development, and student engagement. It highlights initiatives such as AI-powered teaching assistants, adaptive learning platforms, and project-based learning as practical embodiments of this transformative philosophy. Adhering to PRISMA standards for systematic literature analysis, the study provides a comprehensive examination of accelerationism within the educational sector. By doing so, it offers insights into how higher education institutions can embrace accelerationism to better equip students and educators for the complexities of a fast-evolving global landscape.
