- Abstract
Modernity has led to an increasing identification of technology integration in writing classes, particularly the use of artificial intelligence for text generation. This bibliometrics focuses on the harm of text generation, especially the practice of plagiarism. This research uses Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) as the analytical methodology. There are 15 relevant articles for this study that were published between 2022 and 2024. The articles were based on the Scopus database. The review highlights several concerns, particularly those related to academic integrity, potential bias, data protection, and the deterioration of analytical and critical thinking skills. Specifically, there is a high potential for plagiarism due to free access if the writing is unedited and has no citation, a weak detection system, and a lenient usage policy. This article is helpful for teachers, students, and schools considering the use of AI-based text generation in the learning process, particularly in writing.
