Abstract

Archive storage in university libraries has an important role. Before the global digital era occurs, university libraries only stored books. Meanwhile, valuable official papers such as formal notes, contracts and deeds/certificates are kept by determined office holders. Nevertheless, as higher education develops, archive storage is increasingly paid attention to. In addition, college libraries have also initiated to enlarge their archive collections. They collect documents related to the college biography and its surrounding environment. In this fast-paced and technology-based era, university libraries are continuously more turning their look detailed focus on electronic/digital documents. The real impact can be seen by universities initially by scanning important documents and storing them in digital format to speed up archive access and management. In fact, certain documents were created from the beginning in the form of digital/electronic documents. By keeping archives well and properly, higher education institutions can enhance knowledge and give strength to their identity as good universities that have certain characteristics. The research is done by descriptive qualitative method purposing to describe the results of observations and interviews/questionnaires. The findings obtained from this research are the creation of a design for digital archive storage in an application form and nine types of digital archives for accreditation storage area.
