- Abstract
This study aims to describe how language errors in the aspect of spelling are found in the speech texts of high school students at MBI Amanatul Ummah, Pacet. This study is a qualitative study and the research data collection techniques used are reading techniques and note-taking techniques. Language errors made by high school students in writing Indonesian language speech texts include spelling errors, word choice errors that use non-standard words, and sentence construction errors influenced by foreign languages. From the 41 data analyzed, the results of three language errors were obtained, the most dominant errors that occurred in students’ speech texts were spelling errors as many as 27, then word choice errors and sentence construction errors as many as 7. These language errors can interfere with written and oral communication. Through the analysis of language errors, the use of good and correct Indonesian can be explained. Good Indonesian is Indonesian that meets the communication factors, while correct Indonesian is Indonesian that meets the rules (grammar) of the language.
