- Abstract
The results of a good translation should be able to be understood by readers as well as readers reading the original language. In a case, sometimes there is a translation whose meaning cannot be well understood. This occurs because of inadequate or even inappropriate translation. So, equivalence in translation plays a very important role. The equivalence means a balance between ideas and the structure of the language used to translate those ideas. Equivalence translation theory is a concept in translation studies that explores how to achieve the closest possible translation between source and target languages while maintaining the meaning, style, tone, and context of the original text.
