- Abstract
This article presents the findings of a study driven by the desire to improve learning outcomes for understanding the concept of command interfaces Disk Operating System (DOS) commands. This is important because during classroom learning with teacher-centered demonstration mode, students have difficulty understanding the concept of DOS commands. In addition, it can provide empirical evidence of the use of screencasts in learning the concept of computer commands. The research method used is quasi-experimental with post-test only as the experimental design. The results of the analysis show that there is a difference in the results of learning DOS commands by participating in a demonstration in class compared to learning through a screencast independently accompanied by an assignment sheet. Students who study through screencasts independently have better learning outcomes than students who take part in demonstrations in class. The findings show that learning DOS commands by using screencasts is proven to be effective.
