Website: https://asiacall.info/the-20th-asiacall-international-conference/ The 20th International Conference of the Asia Association of Computer-Assisted Lan- guage Learning (AsiaCALL 2023) was hosted by the University of Foreign Language Studies, and the University of Danang in Da Nang City, Vietnam. It was held from November 25–26, 2023, with the theme of “Artificial Intelligence and Critical Digital Literacies in Language Learning,” We expected a wealth of insights and innovations, and we were not disappointed. AsiaCALL 2023 elicited a tremendous response from the CALL community around the world, with 182 paper submissions from 323 authors representing 17 different countries. This global participation reflects the conference’s dedication to promoting international discussion on the integration of technology in language education, with a special emphasis on the connection between artificial intelligence and critical digital literacy. Countries including the USA, Philippines, China, Thailand, Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, South Korea, Iceland, Japan, Italy, Canada, Indonesia, Bangladesh, India, Malaysia, and Vietnam richly contributed to creative and innovative ideas that shed light on the transformative potential of artificial intelligence in language education. As readers will discover, the AsiaCALL International Conference provided a collaborative forum for educators to discuss their research discoveries and teaching experiences in a dynamic and changing setting. Selected full papers delivered at AsiaCALL 2023 are published in Atlantis Press (part of SpringerNature), Proceedings of the AsiaCALL International Conference (PAIC), and the AsiaCALL Online Journal (ACOJ), continuing AsiaCALL’s policy of open and easy access to research findings and teaching practices. We join our readers in looking forward with excitement to discovering in more detail the progressive research performed by members of the AsiaCALL family, research that keeps all of us very much at the forefront of the field.
