Welcome to the Proceedings of the 20th International Conference of the Asia Association of Computer-Assisted Language Learning (AsiaCALL 2023). It was held with the theme of “Artificial Intelligence and Critical Digital Literacies in Language Learning,” We expected a wealth of insights and innovations, and we were not disappointed. AsiaCALL 2023 elicited a tremendous response from the CALL community around the world, with 182 paper submissions from 323 authors representing 17 different countries. This global participation reflects the conference’s dedication to promoting international discussion on the integration of technology in language education, with a special emphasis on the connection between artificial intelligence and critical digital literacy.
