The Institute for Research and Community Services of Universitas Lampung was honoured to host the Second Universitas Lampung International Conference on Social Sciences (ULICoSS) 2021. We would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to all participants in this event on behalf of the 2nd ULICoSS 2021 Organizing Committee. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we used Zoom to organise an entirely online event, with presenters and participants contributing remotely.

This was our second year hosting such a conference. Despite the fact that the COVID-19 pandemic clearly confronts world citizens, scholars and researchers must always fulfil their mandated obligations of idea dissemination. This international conference may be viewed as part of our obligation and effort to facilitate those mandatory activities.

We are all aware that the world has changed due to globalisation and technological advancements. Additionally, we are experiencing a massive digital transformation, which is reshaping not only industry, but also customs, culture, and society. Faced with such social change, we must alter our perspective to generate new, long-term value for society within the framework of Society 5.0.

Therefore, this conference serves as a platform for the dissemination of specific alternatives and significant breakthroughs in the rapidly evolving social development. Scholars, academics, researchers, experts, practitioners, and university students can actively participate and share perspectives, experiences, and research findings in the social sciences milieu. All participants are expected to gain advanced understanding and insights capable of proposing solutions to social problems.

We would like to express our gratitude to the members of the organising committee for their daily efforts to ensure the conference's success, as well as to the reviewers for their dedication to reviewing submissions. The conference would not be possible without the excellent papers submitted by the authors. We appreciate all authors' efforts and participation in the 2nd ULICoSS 2021.

We consider it an honour to serve the most cutting-edge scientific research and development in the field of social sciences. Furthermore, we hope that these proceedings will serve as an excellent reference book for scholars from all over the world. In addition, we apologise to everyone for any shortcomings that may have occurred during the conference, and we hope to be able to hold better international conferences in the future. Finally, it was a great pleasure for us to host such a conference.
