Abstract

This study aims to describe the effectiveness of blended learning based on the Edmodo in terms of students’ interest and learning achievement in mathematics. This study is a quasi-experimental study with a one-group posttest-only design. The population in this study were all students of the mathematics education study program at the Universitas Pendidikan Muhammadiyah Sorong. The sample in this study was the second semester students who were selected by purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques used were test techniques and non-test techniques with data collection instruments, namely learning achievement tests and learning interest questionnaires. The Kolmogorov Smirnov test, one sample at a significant level, was used to test the assumption of normality of the data. Data analysis techniques to test the effectiveness of learning was analyzed using the one sample t-test. To describe the improvement was analyzed using the normalized score gain test. The results showed that blended learning based on the Edmodo was effective in terms of interest and learning achievement and the average normalized gain score for blended learning based on the Edmodo showed that it could increase student interest and learning achievement where α = 5 \% .
