These proceed- ings contain selected papers from that symposium, which was held virtually on December 4, 2023, in Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia. This symposium was organized by the Institute for Research and Community Service, Muhammadiyah University Semarang (Unimus). After the presentation and rigorous peer review process, nineteen papers were selected and published in WoS-indexed conference proceedings. Those papers focus on several areas: biotechnology, biomedical, hematology, microbiology, clinical chem- istry, molecular biology, toxicology, cytology, histology, immunology, parasitology, mycology, bioinformatics, immunohistochemistry, and disease detection. All papers in this proceeding are very useful for both academics and practitioners in the medical laboratory to develop their knowledge. We express our thanks to all parties who have helped carry out the symposium and publish these proceedings. We also express our deepest thanks to all symposium participants, presenters or authors, keynote speakers, and all committees that have held this event.
