Abstract

This research explores the effectiveness of role-playing as a method to enhance German speaking skills. Considering the challenges faced by learners in mastering the German language, such as complex grammatical structures and difficult pronunciation, this research aims to evaluate how role-playing can help overcome these difficulties and improve practical speaking skills. Through an experimental design with a control group and an experimental group, as well as the collection of qualitative data from observations and in-depth interviews, this study demonstrates that role-playing significantly enhances speaking fluency, confidence, and vocabulary mastery. The results show that participants engaged in role-playing were better able to adapt to diverse communication situations and demonstrated a significant improvement in their speaking skills. This research concludes that role-playing is an effective method for teaching German and suggests that this technique should be integrated into the language curriculum, with an emphasis on various real-life scenario situations and constructive feedback. Furthermore, it is recommended to conduct additional research to explore the applications of role-playing in a broader context and with different participant groups.
