Abstract

Proficiency in the English language holds utmost importance for students in aviation academies, serving as a fundamental element in ensuring efficient communication and safety across the worldwide aviation sector. Serving as the universal language in aviation, a strong command of English is vital for maintaining clear and standardized communication among pilots, air traffic controllers, and aviation professionals with diverse cultural backgrounds. This study seeks to figure out the most suitable test format for aviation school cadets. The study was conducted quantitatively in which the data was students’ English proficiency test score. The data was then analyzed and discussed to consider the most appropriate test format. This study suggests that Indonesian aviation school must reconsider and rethink the most suitable test format to ensure the cadets future aviation professional profile.
