- Abstract
The internship program is one of the activities in independent learning activities. The purpose of this article is to analyze the implementation of internship activities for FE Unimed students. Implementation of internships by involving appropriate partners in their field of expertise. The purpose of this article is to analyze various information about the challenges and obstacles in implementing internships for FE Unimed students. This information becomes the basis for designing the internship model carried out by the study program at FE Unimed. Carrying out good and appropriate internships will produce graduates who are superior, professional, have character and have intellectual intelligence, entrepreneurship and a national outlook and are aware of the latest developments in science and skills. FE Unimed currently consists of 13 study programs at the undergraduate, D3 and D4 levels. The diversity of existing study programs has an impact on the implementation of independent learning, especially the implementation of internships which is quite varied. FE Unimed has developed a partnership model that can accommodate differences in the characteristics of study programs and partners as a place to implement independent learning. The study program groups at FE Unimed are: Civil and Building Engineering, Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer Informatics, Catering, Fashion, Makeup and Beauty as well as Nutrition and Health. Partnerships that are established need to pay attention to fields that suit the characteristics of the study program. The results of the research show that the implementation of internships at FE Unimed is: 1) generally the responsibility for finding an internship location is still given to students, 2) the duration of the internship needs to be taken into account because of the diversity of characteristics of internship locations for FE Unimed students, 3) forming an internship or collaboration unit to establish a partnership with DUDI as a whole and collectively, so that the implementation of student internships is more effective in achieving the specified competencies.
