Abstract

The quality of learning in higher education determines the extent to which education is achieved. As a guarantor of educational quality, academic culture plays a vital role in forming a conducive and innovative learning environment in the Fashion Design Education Study Program. This research aims to implement a self-assessment of academic culture to measure the quality of learning in the study program. This research is quantitative descriptive research using a survey method. The research sample consisted of 12 lecturers and 149 female students selected using proportional stratified random sampling techniques. Data was collected through a self-assessment questionnaire distributed using Google Forms and then analyzed using descriptive statistical data analysis techniques. The validity test shows an Average Variance Extracted (AVE) value 0.675. In contrast, the discriminant validity test shows that the outer loading of the measured variable is more significant than other variables. The Cronbach’s alpha value for the academic culture variable is 0.76, indicating consistent reliability. The findings show that all lecturers have a very good perception (100%) of academic culture in learning. Most students (64%) have a good perception, but there is room for improvement in indicators of academic thinking and behavior, which students consider nonoptimal. The academic ethics indicators were rated as very good by both groups, indicating that academic ethics is the main strength in the academic culture in the fashion design education study program.
