Welcome to the 2nd International Conference on Democracy and Social Transformation (ICON- DEMOST) is an annual event hosted by the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences State Islamic University Walisongo, Indonesia. I need to say that we want ICON. This year’s international conference, we set the theme “The Uncertain Future of Democracy and Humanity in the Digitalized World” with nine sub-themes related. The selection of this topic is based on the idea that technological development is becoming a crucial issue within modern society in which people tend to experience alienation within the rapid social and political transformation.
