- Abstract
Breeding system in goats in Indonesia applying had two models of breeding with owned bucks by breeders or breeding assisted by bucks selected from the government in the form of frozen semen. Problems interesting note was how the genetic variation of the population of the goat. The purpose of this study was to determine the degree of genetic variation through DNA fragments that appear in gel electrophoresis. Blood samples from each group through field studies, followed by analysis of DNA with RAPD. Primers used in this analysis using various primer OPP were amplified. Each fragment appears from the results of amplification were given a score of 1 and that is not given a score of 0. The results showed that the fragments that appear vary from 200 bp to 3000 bp. Data were analyzed by unpaired t-test using SPSS software V.23. The results showed that there were significant differences (P <0.05) the number of fragments that emerged from the RAPD with primer OPP which series numbers more than 10. The group with breeding goats using its own bucks significantly higher than the PE group with breeding males selected from the government. There was no difference (P> 0.05) the number of fragments that emerged from the RAPD with OPP which the serial number less than 10 and a combined OPP. The conclusion of this study was the genetic variation PE group with its own buck breeding higher than the government selection buck breeding with primer RAPD analysis OPP series of more than 10.
