Abstract

The modernization of ideological and political education is a vital component in advancing the modernization of education and building a powerful nation in education. As the backbone of ideological and political education for college students and key practitioners of the new digitalized educational paradigm, university counselors play a pivotal bridging role in fulfilling the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education. Consequently, enhancing the digital literacy and competence of university counselors holds significant and far-reaching implications for the innovative development of ideological and political education in higher education institutions. Rooted in the era of digital intelligence, this paper analyzes the competency requirements for vocational college counselors and the dilemmas they face in upgrading their qualifications. It further delves into feasible avenues for enhancing the competencies of vocational college counselors, encompassing aspects such as work consciousness, training mechanisms, work methodologies, optimization mechanisms, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
