Abstract

Boasting rich red cultural heritages, Xuzhou City represents an important nodal city of China’s “Belt and Road Initiative” and a central city of the Huaihai Economic Zone. Utilizing the geographic information system (GIS) technology, this paper classifies, evaluates, and analyzes the red cultural heritages in Xuzhou, and explores the long-term protection and utilization mechanism for these heritages. The objective of the study is to propose suggestions and strategies for the development of local heritages, filling the existing gaps in research on the sustainable development of red cultural heritages in the Huaihai Economic Zone.
