- Abstract
Edith Wharton’s novels are famous for the real reproduction of the life of American upper class society at the end of the nineteenth century. As one of the best works of Wharton, "The Age of Innocence" is considered to be the most concentrated expression of the author's perspective of family and marriage, which is of great enlightenment and practical significance for contemporary women.
