Proceedings of the 7th International Conference on Environment and Engineering Geophysics & Summit Forum of Chinese Academy of Engineering on Engineering Science and Technology
Resource and power energy have been exhausted and the environment of the earth has been partly destroyed by the development of the human society since the 1980s. It is a big challenge for us to protect the earth environment which is closely related to the development of the economy. Geophysics has been playing an important role in research on the earth, seeking the resources and promoting the development of society. Nowadays, the theories, methods and techniques of geophysics need to be enriched to make contributions to the resource detection and environment protection for the scarce resource and the deterioration of the environment.
Gravity, magnetic, electromagnetic, seismic and radioactive prospecting methods are different branches of geophysics, which take advantage of different geophysical theories and modern instruments to observe the earth, explore the oil and ore resources, and solve the engineering and environmental problems. Each branch of geophysics has been developed maturely. Developing high-quality equipment has been the research focus in the current research of geophysics to promote the detection depth and precision. Meanwhile, integrated geophysics should be developed to solve the difficult application problems.
2016 is the first year of the 13th Five-year plan. 2016-2020 is also the last five-year of implementation for national science and technique development of medium and long-term planning programs. In this critical period and historical note, all of the geophysicists should summarize our work, plan for the future, serve for the economic development and protect the environment. The 7th International Conference on Environmental and Engineering Geophysics (ICEEG 2016) will be held on 26th to 29th, June in Beijing, China. The conference focuses on the resource and environmental geophysics, and provides one platform for the geophysical researchers to communicate and promote the detection level of environmental and engineering geophysics.
Integrated geophysics is used widely in the exploration of modern resources, such as oil and gas, ore deposit, coal mine, shale gas and geothermal power, and the monitoring of geological disasters, including rock-soil body, the ground deformation, mine, special rock-soil engineering disaster, desertification of land and environmental abnormality.
More than three hundred papers were received and 130 excellent papers will be accepted in the Proceedings. Researcher Qingyun Di is invited to be the executive editor. Prof. Guoqiang Xue, Jiulong Cheng, Tianyao Hao, Jun Lin, Changchun Yin, Lanbo Liu, Xiaohong Meng, Gang Tian, Jianghai Xia andWenfeng Du are committee members. After critical review, most excellent papers are included in the final Proceedings. New development and reforming planning programs for science and technique are put forward. We hope that these Proceedings can serve as a modest spur to give more enlightenment for our geophysical researchers: seize the opportunity, be devoted to the research and application of geophysics, and realize the innovation of theory and method to protect the environment and promote the development of the human society.
