The 5th International Conference on Contemporary Education, Social Sciences and Humanities (Philosophy of Being Human as the Core of Interdisciplinary Research) was held on April 23-24, 2020 at Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN University) Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the conference was held in on-line format. The aim of the conference is to acquire the holistic understanding of the nature and the status of the modern human from the standpoint of the interdisciplinary approach. The main objective of the conference is to provide the opportunity for philosophers, sociologists, anthropologists, cultural and religious studies scholars, psychologists, specialists in the field of the media and communications, bioethics and ethics to consider and discuss the issues of the modern human at the crossroads of civilizational, cultural, moral, religious, educational, environmental, technological and communication transformations of modern society.
