- Abstract
This work aims to find out some communication theories applied in Mentimeter, a latest website to create questions and collect answers, to improve educational communication and teaching effectiveness. Six communication theories, which are Selective Attention, Hot Media Theory, the Spiral of Silence, Face Theory, the Role of Repetition in Learning and Schramm’s Model of Communication, will be firstly discussed in theory and secondly analyzed in two real cases. The purpose of the study is to figure out the specific communication theories that make the Mentimeter a good tool to assist teachers to improve teaching effectiveness and enhance educational communication skills, and provides some insights for the future development of educational digital tools.
