Abstract

As Socialism with Chinese Characteristics enters a new era, Chinese foreign language education undertakes the mission of promoting the building of a community of shared future for mankind and cultivating people who can participate in global governance and play important roles in the great renewal of the Chinese nation. To strengthen the literary classic education at the basic stage of English major, combining morality education with professional skills training, is conducive to improving the quality of foreign language talents. Literary classics show irreplaceable values in foreign language education with their intrinsic values such as aesthetic, ethical and social ones. The literary classic education is not only the route that humans must take to be great and lofty, but also the effective way to shape the values of the New Era, improve empathy and critical thinking, and promote the construction of the community of shared future.
