In order to deeply explore the extensive application and far-reaching impact of big data in the field of social sciences, we have gathered together to organize the 2024 5th International Conference on Big Data and Social Sciences (ICBDSS 2024) in Shanghai, China, during August 16th to 18th, 2024. Since the success of the first International Conference on Big Data and Social Sciences, ICBDSS has been held for five consecutive sessions, each of which attracted experts and scholars, enterprise representatives and technology developers from all over the world. On the basis of inheriting the successful experience of the previous conferences, this conference has further expanded its scale and enhanced its influence, bringing together more international top scholars, and covering a wide range of cutting-edge fields such as big data, social sciences, digital economy, blockchain, and artificial intelligence.
