Abstract

2023 has become a milestone for AI, yet the style of AI chatbots remain underexplored. This study takes the register framework proposed by Biber in investigating the conversation style of ChatGPT, Claude and Copilot. The result shows that AI chatbots vary in terms of ability in imitating conversation, and each AI chatbot has a specific conversation style.
