- Abstract
This research stems from the concerns of researchers in this nation which is still polarized by ethnic, racial and religious identities in managing the governance, due to the low level of public understanding and awareness of multicultural democracy. Therefore, it is important to portray Banuroja village governance as a miniature of good governance in a multicultural society so that it can provide an example for people in other areas. This study aims to describe the Banuroja village governance as one of the governance role models in a multicultural society. The research approach is qualitative using ethnographic study methods. The results illustrate that the success of the Banuroja community in building good village governance in a multicultural society is determined by: 1) The governance is managed cooperatively by different ethnic and religious communities; 2) Promoting a culture of deliberation to reach consensus; and 3) Leadership that protects the diversity of society.
