Website: http://acec.event.upi.edu/2022 Annual Civic Education Conference is an annual agenda of the Civic Education Study Program, Faculty of Social Science Education, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. This event is organized in collaboration with Pancasila and Civic Education Study Program of Universitas Lambung Mangkurat and supported by Indonesia Association of Pancasila and Civic Education Profession (IAPCEP) and Indonesian Civic Education Science Consortium (ICESC). The 4th Annual Civic Education Conference (ACEC) carries the theme “Critical Digital Pedagogy and Reprogramming Civic Education of Indonesia”. This theme is a form of endeavor as well as shared responsibility and concern from various elements of citizenship education to respond to challenges in the current era of globalization. The development of the industrial revolution era 4.0 and society 5.0 changed the ways of thinking and pedagogical practices in civic education toward a critical digital pedagogy. In this context, pedagogical practices focus on both community and collaboration. It remains open to the development of diverse information, ways of communication and collaboration across cultural and political boundaries, various perspectives in formulating definitions and solving problems. It further requires instructional practices to use some applications beyond traditional educational institutions and contemporary digital technology in learning. Therefore, it is necessary to reprogram civic education in Indonesia within the framework of Critical Digital Pedagogy practice to shape students becoming good citizens in the digital era. The Fourth Annual Civic Education Conference is an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary platform that aims to bring leading experts, educators, policymakers, researchers, lecturers, teachers, and students to examine and take strategic roles in developing Critical Digital Pedagogy and its implications for civic education. Finally, the 4th ACEC 2022 was held with the support and assistance of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia and Universitas Lambung Mangkurat. We are also grateful to have the support of the rector, dean, vice-deans, managers, lecturers, staff, and students from the Faculty of Social Science Education Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia and Faculty of Teacher Training and Educational Sciences Universitas Lambung Mangkurat as a part of the organizing team.
