Proceedings of the 1st World Conference on Health and Social Science (WCHSS 2022)
Conference name: Proceedings of the 1st World Conference on Health and Social Science (WCHSS 2022)
Date: 28-29 October 2022
Location: South Jakarta, Indonesia (Hybrid)
Website: https://wchss.binawan.ac.id/ The WHO Constitution above illustrates that the handling of health problems must be integrated with the handling of social problems in society. One in every 1,300 people alive in 2019 has died from a SARS-CoV-2 infection, but when we look at the state of the world today the direct health impacts of COVID-19 may not be the ones we remember the most. The indirect effects on health as a result of delayed routine and preventative care, the increased mental health burden, and the eventual economic and social burden may seem even more significant. The economic losses and dislocations caused by the pandemic have reduced the quality of life for people around the world. Within the framework of the Tridharma of higher education, Binawan University as a new university supported by the fields of health and social sciences performed The First World Conference on Health and Social Science, involving three faculties of Binawan University. This conference’s objective is to develop and evaluate researchbased interventions to improve public health, reduce social inequalities in health, and communicate research results and implications to a wide range of audiences. The event has been held as a hybrid of virtual and live events at Binawan University, Jakarta, Indonesia, from October 28–29, 2022. It is planned as a bi-annual event. This conference involved speakers and participants from more than ten countries. There were four speakers at this conference, including Prof. Chen, J.V from National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan, Prof. Vidhya Venugopal from Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research, India, Prof. Ikenna Ebuenyi, MBBS, Ph.D from University College Dublin, Ireland, and Prof. Dr. Ir. M. Faiz Syuaib, M.Agr., IPU. from Higher EducationDirectorate, Ministry of Education, Culture,Technology, and Research of Indonesia. The committee received about 84 abstracts that have been presented, and there were 32 articles that have been accepted for publication. There were 18 articles carried in the book series published by Atlantis Press from the total number. Finally, we would like to thank all the presenters for the willingness to share their latest research and ideas and all the participations for their keen and active participation. Without your efforts, the 1st WCHSS 2022 would not be possible.
