- Abstract
When considering a person's position in culture and his / her familiarization with cultural values, the process of enculturation is of particular importance. The idea of enculturation as a process of involving the individual in the social sphere of culture is considered in relation to the University students. The formation of cultural identity includes the development of the values of native culture, its norms and traditions. Enculturation of an individual is connected with the problems of preservation of cultural traditions, cultural adaptation, cultural and spiritual integration into society. The main instrument of the process of enculturation is the mother tongue. Language is not only a means of communication, but is also a means of understanding values. Language is a means of learning and preserving cultural experience. This is a dynamic, constantly evolving system, which has its own rules and regulations. The purpose of this article is to identify the degree the students retain orthoepic norms in the process of enculturation.
