Chinese language competition plays a significant role in cross-cultural adaptation of foreign students and its advantageous functions are primarily demonstrated in the following three aspects. Secondly, it aids international students in forming their identity and developing physical and emotional well-being within the host country. The competition also enables them to gain a penetrating and refreshing insight into Chinese culture. The article concludes with feasible recommendations proposed based on the common characteristics, providing a reference value for guiding international students to participate in Chinese language competitions.
