- Abstract
Emotion reactions play a crucial role in the experience of art. In recent years, art information processing models have increasingly emphasized the importance of aesthetic emotions, leading to empirical studies and applications. This paper aims to provide an overview of the emotion measurement methods for paintings and their applications. According to previous studies, self-report methods are considered a fundamental tool for assessing aesthetic emotions and experiences in paintings. In addition, studies based on behavioral and physiological data are also available due to the use of EEG and pupil diameter in art experiments. The measurements of emotions can also contribute to the creation of emotion analysis resources, which can be utilized in the development of art emotion annotation systems.
