- Abstract
The long term objective of this research is to develop learning materials which emphasize all students' senses in Indonesian language subject at school. Meanwhile, the specific objective of this research is to figure out whether SAVI (Somatic, Auditory, Visually, Intellectually) is able to increase learning outcomes in Indonesian language subject of the students of SMAN 1 Mataraman, Banjar Regency. The Curriculum 2013 brings up personal experience through observation activities (listening, seeing, reading, speaking), associating, asking, concluding, communicating, and presenting. Therefore, it is remarkably expected that the effectiveness of interaction, comprehension, and acquisition are to be made. Considering that matters, teachers are expected to make changes on learning paradigm. In that case, teachers should commit on the willingness to utilize recent effective learning models. This research was a quasi experimental research. The research was conducted to the IX grade students of SMAN 1 Mataraman. The first group was the experimental group and was treated by applying SAVI learning model to their leaning activity in Indonesian language subject. Meanwhile, the second group was the control group and was treated by applying the conventional leaning model. This was done to figure out the effectiveness of SAVI learning model to increase students' four learning skills in Indonesian language subject.
