- Abstract
The effective cross-cultural communication of Chinese food culture is closely related to the appropriateness of the translation of related culturally loaded words. Taking the documentary “A Bite of China I” and its English translation as the text, the culture-loaded words are classified into material culture-loaded words and spiritual culture-loaded words, and the English translation strategies adopted by them are studied. The translation strategy that focuses on translation and supplements foreignization is beneficial to cross-cultural communication.
