The tourism industry today is increasingly being eroded by the impact of the Global Covid-19 pandemic so that almost all tourism lines and their multi-effects are also affected by the Global Stay at Home Movement in order to suppress the spread of the Covid 19 virus. Through the initiation of three leading higher education institutions in Indonesia and Malaysia, namely Palembang Tourism Polytechnic, UiTM (Universiti Teknologi MARA Malaysia) and Bina Nusantara University (Binus University)-Jakarta in 2021. The activity of “Palembang Tourism Forum 2021” was designed and then later called PTF-2021, which is a scientific forum, which aims to collect scientific research which is expected to be part of the solution for tourism sector policy makers so that they can immediately revive the tourism economy and its multi-effects, and can expand its benefits by being published in international journals and national indexed journal.

The description above is then expected to strengthen the tourism sector as an important pillar in development in every country. In line with peace, political stability, and tourism are mutually supportive, and for those reasons the International Forum: PTF-2021 carries the theme "A New Norm of Tourism: Time to Restart, Revive and Revitalize".
