- Abstract
China’s middle-aged and elderly people have a high prevalence of mental illness and a heavy financial burden. According to the study, between 2011 and 2018, the average annual medical costs of patients with mental illness rose sharply, and the proportion of out-of-pocket payments for rural patients declined but was still higher than that of urban areas. Artificial intelligence plays a significant role in predicting diseases and optimizing resource allocation. Promoting home-based intelligent robot-assisted treatment can reduce care costs and improve treatment efficiency. Meanwhile, the AI disease co-management model is expected to further reduce the medical burden of patients with mental illnesses through whole-life health management.
