The collection presents materials from the II International Scientific and Practical Conference "Psychology of Extreme Professions" (ISPCPEP 2019), which was held on June 27-29, 2019, Arkhangelsk and the Solovetsky Islands, Arkhangelsk Region, Russian Federation (organized by the Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov ", Arkhangelsk, Russia).

This international scientific-practical conference is devoted to the problems of professional activity in extreme conditions. At the same time, the concept of extremism permits a broad interpretation: it can be both extreme and emergency situations, as well as high long-term work intensity. It unites, popularizes and develops both world and domestic scientific traditions in the stated perspective.
Traditionally, extreme conditions include professional activities of rescue services, military, Interior Ministry, Federal Penitentiary Service, Emergencies Ministry, cosmonauts. However, it should be noted the expansion of the range of employment posts with extreme conditions of professional activity, despite the improvement of living conditions - now the content of activities is actively changing in many professions; there is a lack of time and an increase in the intensity and intensity of work. Optimization of psychological support will contribute to the professional longevity of the subject of labor with an increase in the level of his psychological health and well-being.
Human labor in extreme conditions is the subject of interest of many scientific fields, including physiology, occupational health and medicine, social anthropology and geography, sociology, etc. The organizers seek to combine the efforts of various specialists and the mutual enrichment of the information space on the conference theme. The program committee and the conference content take this circumstance into account.
The purpose of the conference is to summarize the developments, to advance in scientific issues of psychological support and psychological support of professional activity in extreme conditions; further conceptualization in the sphere of human interaction with the environment and factors of his work activity; discussion of modern approaches to the concept of extreme work, taking into account the poly-factorial negative impact of the environment on staff and total innovation.
The effectiveness of the event is provided by the competence of the organizers in the field of the conference topics. This is confirmed by the participation of 11 doctors of science in the program committee, as well as the implementation of research funded by research funds: RFBR grant No. 18-013-00623 "Comparative analysis of psychological risks in the professional work of shift workers in the south and the Far North of the Russian Federation"; RFBR grant №19-013-00517 "Interconnection of professional deformations, professional self-awareness and effectiveness of law enforcement officers' activity" and a grant of the President of the Russian Federation for state support of young Russian scientists - candidates of sciences MK-6409.2018.6 industries in the Far North and the Arctic.
