Abstract

The growing population of the Earth means an increasing demand for agricultural products. By 2025, the United Nations projected a 70% increase in food production. The domestic agricultural sector faces the task of increasing labor productivity and competitiveness through the use of the latest scientific achievements and best practices In his address to the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on March 1, 2018, the President of the Russian Federation called for effective use of the huge technological potential accumulated in the world, which allows to make a technological breakthrough and bring the economy to a new level. The article considers the need for the transition of the agricultural sector the digital economy
