On the Social Value of Community Dance

Abstract

Firstly, this paper combs and analyzes the concept of community dance and square dance at home and abroad. Community dance is an important part of mass culture, and the study of its social value has important practical significance for building a happy and civilized society. The sports function of community dance with entertainment as the core can promote the healthy development of the participants’ body and mind, the aesthetic education function with aesthetic as the intermediary improves the participants’ artistic self-cultivation and aesthetic taste, and the moral education function with the goal of spiritual civilization construction promotes the harmonious and stable development of society. In the future development process, with the support and guidance of national policies and the organization and promotion of various literary and art work units, community dance will take the steps of China and the people in the new era, and gradually establish a perfect and mature system with Chinese characteristics serving the Chinese people.
