- Abstract
This research intends to describe model and theme of teacher communication on WhatsApp social media of MGMP forum of Indonesian Language Donggala. The research method applied was qualitative method with a socio-pragmatic approach. Based on the results of the research, there are three models and themes of teacher communication on WhatsApp social media of MGMP forum Donggala, namely the wheel model, the letter Y model, and the overall model. The wheel communication model in the MGMP forum has the characteristic that the holder of full control in conveying information is only carried out by the MGMP chairman. The letter Y communication model is only carried out by the vice chairman and secretary based on the authority granted by the MGMP chairman. The overall communication model can be carried out by the chairperson and all members of the MGMP forum, while the theme of teacher communication that occurs in WhatsApp social media on the MGMP forum is communication for additional knowledge which contains sentences of thanks and praise to MGMP forum members who provide information. Then entertaining communication in the form of smiley and laughing emoticon, and lastly, attitude-changing communication themes also in the form of thumbs up, palms together, strong hand muscles, applause, and red hearts emoticons. Thus, the dominant pattern of teacher communication on WhatsApp social media of MGMP forum Donggala is a comprehensive pattern.
