Proceedings of the International Conference on Teacher Training and Education 2018 (ICTTE 2018)
As the Chairperson and on behalf of the organising committee, I am delighted to welcome you all to the 4th International Conference on Teacher Training and Education (ICTTE 2018), hosted by the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta. And welcome back to all of you who attended the previous conference of ICTTE 2017, really appreciated to be back here again with us
Collaboration spurs innovation because bringing together groups of people who have different ideas, approaches, experiences and areas of expertise creates a fertile environment for generating new concepts and methods. The challenge for research in education, then, is to figure out how to incentivize collaborative behavior to drive innovations that meets the needs of the country and helping more students to attain skills to advance their own and the nation’s welfare.
The theme of this exciting forum is “Reinforcing Network of Collaboration to Anticipate Information Disruption”, which embraces five main topics, including: (1) Collaboration in Education: University-School-Industry, (2) Curriculum Design, Development & Implementation, (3) Technology & Innovation in Education, (4) Evaluation and Assessment, and (5) Teacher Professionalism and Learning Community.
The 4th ICTTE 2018 invites researchers, academicians, educators, practitioners, government agencies, and consultants around the world to attend and share their insights, perspectives and new trends of research. The conference accepts scholarly manuscripts of the latest development in education including Literature Review, Conceptual Paper, and Research Report which are related to the theme of the conference. For this conference, we invited six plenary speakers with solid expertise from different countries and regions.
We are extremely grateful to: (1) Professor Dr. Muhadjir Effendy, M.A.P. – Ministry of Education and Culture, Indonesia; (2) Professor Dr. Hideo Nakata – University of Tsukuba, Japan; (3) Professor Christine C. M. Goh, National Institute of Education, Singapore; (4) Professor Dr. Sunardi, M.Sc. – Universitas Sebelas Maret, Indonesia; (5) Dr. Indra Perdana, M.Pd. – Palangkaraya University, Indonesia; and (6) Associate Professor Andrzej Cirocki – University of York, UK. We owe so much to you, the distinguish speakers who have taken time out of your busy schedules to share your experience with us these days.
In addition, we reviewed and selected 319 abstracts for concurrent session of presentations. We believe that we can learn plenty of things from different presenters. The 4th ICTTE 2018 is attended by more than 400 participants coming from different countries and regions in and beyond Indonesia. Paper presented in the 4th ICTTE 2018 will be published in distinctive publication outlets subject to the conformity of the paper quality with the individual publication outlets’ policies.
The conference is not able to come into a reality without wholehearted support from many parties. Therefore, on behave of the committee, I would like to take this opportunity to extend my appreciation to the Rector of Sebelas Maret University, the Dean of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, the invited plenary speakers, paper presenters, reviewers, delegates and guests, participants, and all sponsoring agencies that have supported us to host this conference. In addition, my sincere thanks go to my organizing team and student volunteers for their untiring efforts to make this conference as a memorable one.
I wish all the presenters and participants a fruitful and memorable experience at the 4th ICTTE 2018 in Solo. Last but not least, I do hope we will meet again at the fifth International Conference on Teacher Training and Education, the 5th ICTTE 2019.
