The conference this year addresses the role of higher education in supporting the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a hope to implement best practices from updated research findings leading to creating a better and sustainable world. It is such a delight to present this year conference’s proceedings which enhances the development process of SDGs achievements through innovative research activities from global intellectuals and professionals including Australia, United Kingdom, Malaysia, Fiji Island, and Indonesia. Held in Surabaya, Indonesia on 10th August 2024 using a virtual platform, the conference mediates higher education institutions’ role in sharing and implementing best practices of SDG programs ranging from various disciplines including politics, international relations, communication, sociology, public administration, geography, and law. It provides us with a chance to explore their influence in different sectors and discover ways to leverage them effectively. Therewere several scholarswho were willing to serve as keynote speakers and deliver their research findings during plenary sessions at the 4th ICSSL 2024. They were Dr. Narelle Warren from Monash University, Dr. Ravinesh Rohit Prasad from Fiji National University, Fiji Island, Dr. Azlan Abas from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia,Malaysia, and Yoo Bin Kim, Ph.D. from Korea Labor Institute, South Korea. They shared their valuable research findings enabling us to modify and adjust their best practices to our local communities. This conference has attracted much attention from the scientific community. There were 259 submissions, and 102 research-based papers are selected after undergoing a rigorous review process to ensure their academic standard. Hopefully, this Proceedings can provide valuable insights and inspire future collaborations and innovations. It is impossible to hold this conference without the organizing committee dedication and the participation of each one of you. Your presence here reflects your commitment to advancing knowledge and fostering innovation and collaboration.
