Abstract

Intercultural communication competence serves as an essential part of one's language competence. In order to improve students' intercultural competence, things can be done in the following four aspects: renewing teachers' education philosophies, compiling and selection of appropriate textbooks, wide use of multi-media devices and introduction of intercultural practices and activities. In the meanwhile, teachers have to take the responsibility to help students to strengthen their abilities of autonomous learning to cultivate their intercultural communication competence.
