Website: http://www.icsscer.com As society progresses and the city scale increases, architecture is diversifying and becoming complex, with structures transforming from simple structures into high-rise, long-span, and even special and complex structures. Architecture is where people live and work, so its security must be ensured, and countries have been endeavoring to improve architectural security. We hope to have a deeper discussion on this respect. Therefore, 2023 5th International Conference on Structural Seismic and Civil Engineering Research (ICSSCER2023) was held from August 25 to 27, 2023, in Nanjing, China (virtual form). The conference provided a high-profile, leading-edge forum for researchers, engineers, and practitioners to present the state-of-the-art advances and innovations in theoretical foundations, systems, infrastructure, tools, testbeds, and applications, as well as to identify emerging research topics and define the future. This year, ICSSCER 2023 focused on the latest research and technology of structural seismic and civil engineering to discuss the innovation and development in related fields. It brought together about 50 participants and featured a robust technical program of peer-reviewed papers and invited keynote lectures. Many renowned professors delivered dramatic keynote speeches during the conference. Prof. Amit Srivastava (Graphic Era (Deemed to be) University, India) addressed on Materials, Methods and Process of 3D Concrete Printing: Current Status and Future Research, Prof. Zakiah Ahmad (Universiti Teknologi Mara, Malaysia) on Development of Strength Classes for Engineered Wood Product from Malaysian Tropical Timber: Method, Significance, and Applications, Assoc. Prof.AnkitGarg (Shantou University, China) on Exploring Role of Biochar and Vegetation in Geotechnical Engineering, and Assoc. Prof. Sudharshan N. Raman (Monash University Malaysia, Malaysia) on Ultra-High-Performance Concrete: From Material Scale to Field Applications. Their insightful speeches triggered heated and interesting discussions and a good number of informal talks between all the participants. This volume covers topics on all fields of research related to structural seismic and civil engineering, including Materials of Civil Engineering, Structural Seismic Resistance, Engineering Structure, Monitoring and Testing, etc., increasing the number of scientific publications for science and technology innovation. We would like to thank all the participants in the 2023 5th International Conference on Structural Seismic and Civil Engineering Research. We would also like to thank all the Committee members, for the work and preparation they put in to organize this great event.
