- Abstract
Smoking activity in the academic community in the campus environment has become a habit that is considered unhealthy and less educational for the education environment. The effort to build a smoke-free campus is intended as a campus where there is no activity related to smoking for the better development of future generations. Ironically, the existence of a campus without smoking is still far from expectations and is still limited to the leadership rhetoric and campus management. Of course this caused discomfort and unrest in the campus in providing a healthy space for the entire academic community. The campus as a barometer for the printing of young Indonesian intellectuals who prioritize the character building of the nation's children has an interest in providing legal protection and advocacy as well as a healthy environment. The problem is the lack of regulatory support that supports the realization of non-smoking areas, enforcement of unclear sanctions and lack of commitment of campus management in encouraging the development of non-smoking areas at UPN Veteran East Java. Socialization of the impact of smoking and the rights of passive smokers in getting a healthy environment in the campus area is evenly distributed and sustainable for all academics, forms of supervision and enforcement of sanctions for non-smoking offenders and support for campus management in encouraging non-smoking campuses for academic community.
