- Abstract
This research aimed to know the disparity of the Basic Education Minimum Service Standar (MSS) in two levels: (1) between levels of basic education in each subdistrict in Soppeng district; (2) amongst all types of categories and indicators in each subdistrict in Soppeng district; This quantitative research used descriptive inferential analysis technique. The population of the research consisted of 307 respondents deriving from all elementary and junior high school headmasters and basic education staff of Education Office, Soppeng District. The results of the research showed minimum service standard achievement was cumulatively different in each subdistrict. Lalabata subdistrict was in the highest position (75 %) and Donri-Donri subdistrict was in the lowest position (58%). Besides, the research also showed disparity amongst categories in each subdistrict both at elementary and junior secondary levels. At elementary school level, Marioriwawo subdistrict showed the highest minimum service standard achievement in human resources category (87%) whereas Marioriawa subdistrict showed the lowest achievement (77%) but the highest in infrastructure category (41%). In the category of operational support, Donri-Donri subdistrict showed the lowest achievement both in elementary and junior secondary basic education levels (55% for elementary and 70% for secondary), whereas Citta subdistrict showed the highest achievement at junior secondary level (94%).
