- Abstract
This paper seeks economic development and public welfare after regional proliferation. The focus of this research is Lamandau Regency, Central Kalimantan. This study is conducted using a qualitative explanatory approach. Data were collected from secondary sources, such as government reports, statistical results of BPS-Statistic of Indonesia, and official websites. Data were processed and displayed descriptively. We revealed that economic growth and public welfare in Lamandau Regency, after separating from its main regency, Kotawaringin Barat, have developed significantly in terms of gross regional domestic product (GRDP), economic development, income distribution, and poverty rate. The results of this study enrich the study of regional proliferation by recognizing economic development and public welfare. The results are also valuable for Lamandau Regency in increasing economic development and public welfare.
