Proceedings of the First International Conference on Progressive Civil Society (ICONPROCS 2019)
On behalf of the organizing committee, it gives me great pleasure in welcoming you to the 1st International Conference on Southeast Asia Studies (IconProcs 2019) which is held in Universitas Ahmad Dahlan, Yogyakarta, Indonesia, 19th February 2019.
This conference marks a historic occasion for two reasons. Firstly, it is intended to answer the need of discussing how to strengthen the progressive civil society in Asia countries, among the academicians, researchers, practitioners, students, and other groups who have similar interests. The second reason is that this is the first time for UAD Yogyakarta Indonesia hosting this conference, which is aimed to heighten networking and collaboration among participants.
We are honored to carry out the activities in this conference. We look forward to welcoming you all: the keynote speaker, all invited speakers, co-hosts, researchers, academics, all speakers in the parallel sessions and all participants. We are certain that your presence, bringing together your expertise, vision, knowledge, and experience will help us consolidate our ideas, thoughts and help us pave the way into the future.
We certainly cannot achieve what we do without your support. There are more than 200 abstracts which were submitted to this conference. Our local organizing committee has put in place an interesting scientific program, with lectures by keynote and invited speakers from the region and beyond, parallel session speakers to provide us an insight into the cutting-edge developments in South-East Asia region.
Throughout this conference, I ask that you stay engaged, keep us proactive, and help us shape the future of discussing how to strengthen the progressive civil society in Southeast Asia countries.
We look forward to your support to make this conference a success. My thanks go out to all of you.
Thank you very much
Maraming salamat
Terima kasih banyak.
