Abstract

Batik innovation has been carried out by Indonesian craftsmen and designers. The purpose of this study was to create new batik patterns utilizing a soil formula that brought out different colors. Quality Function Deployment method was used to understand the consumers' need. The results showed that the consumers were interested in culinary, culture, regions, and local community philosophy motives on their Batik. This study contributed concepts for the craftsmen to satisfy the consumers' need.
